Nearly three months since Florence brings new challenge for Jones County

Nearly three months since Hurricane Florence made landfall and ripped through Eastern North Carolina, counties are beginning to see new challenges arise.

Jones County Manager Franky Howard said one of the biggest issues they're facing is contractor availability. Another issue is finding a place for the contractors to stay while they're aiding in recovery efforts.

Jones County residents said contractors are backed up for weeks, months and even years.

Longtime resident Tommy Moore said buildings on his property are damaged but he refuses to contact a contractor for at least a year.

The reasons behind that include a lack of manpower and respect for those rebuilding their main homes.
