Disaster Recovery Center closing in Trenton, help still available

The Disaster Recovery Center in Trenton is scheduled to shut down on Nov. 21.

The center is located at the Jones County Civic Center. The place has been a significant resource for Jones County residents ever since Hurricane Florence swept through Eastern North Carolina.

Despite the Disaster Recovery Center closing soon, there are still some available resources for Jones County residents.

The FEMA Hazard Mitigation Program is accepting applicants. Jones County is holding an informational meeting at Jones Senior High School on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to help residents learn more about the program.
