Les is an AMS meteorologist who delivers the StormTrack12 forecast each weekday morning and noon.
He brings with him more than 20 years of TV weather forecasting experience. Before coming to North Carolina, Les worked in television weather in Lancaster and Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and in Hagerstown, Maryland. He was pleased his career began in his home state of Maryland. From the time Les was in elementary school, he knew he wanted to be a television meteorologist. In 1997, Les graduated from Millersville University with a B.S. degree in Meteorology.
Some of his career highlights include the historic December 2006 Pennsylvania tornado outbreak, reporting live from the floods of Ivan in 2004 and the Presidents Day Blizzard of 2003, not to mention numerous severe weather and snow events.
In 2010, Les became the first person in Eastern Carolina with the CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist) accreditation. This is the highest level of credibility from the American Meteorological Society for accurate and professional weather forecasting.
His hobbies include being a huge train buff with a large collection of Lionel model trains. Les also officiated high school basketball for more than eight years. Les and his wife Amy have been married for more than 20 years and have two children.
