Grant Carlton started his meteorology career right here in Eastern North Carolina in September of 2022.
Grant was born and raised in the rural heartland of south-central Pennsylvania (go birds) just outside of Harrisburg, PA. In 2020, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology at Millersville University in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
During his time at Millersville, Grant became involved in a slew of student leadership organizations and activities. As President of the MU-AMS Chapter, he got to meet many individuals across the field of meteorology and learn about the vast ways weather impacts our businesses and communities. At Millersville, he also enjoyed performing music and getting involved with Orientation & New-Student programs.
Grant's passion for weather started young with an irrational fear that a tornado would touch down every time it started to rain. Having overcome that fear, he is now fascinated by our dynamic atmosphere and enjoys forecasting to keep all communities safe. With his favorite category being marine/tropical weather, Grant is looking forward to the ever-changing weather that living in Eastern North Carolina can bring.
