Deja Mayfield returns home to fulfill her passion for telling stories that impact the community.

An Eastern North Carolina native, Deja knows what matters most to you.

She joined the News Channel 12 team in August of 2022.

Always knowing that she'd pursue a career in reporting, Deja went off to North Carolina Agriculture and Technical University where she earned her bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.

As a student, Deja worked as a Multimedia Specialist for the A&T Register and a press intern for the Office of Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-D12).

After earning her degree, Deja even joined the audience team at USA Today before landing her role as a nightside reporter and weekend morning anchor here at WCTI News Channel 12.

At News Channel 12, Deja dedicates her passion to serving you and telling the stories that matter most.
