Wilson County trooper shot on Monday out of hospital

The Wilson County state trooper who was shot Monday evening in the Elm City area of Wilson is out of the hospital.

WTVD reports Daniel Harrell, a five-year veteran of the force, was released Wednesday from Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Relatives told WTVD he is "doing well" and continues to recover from surgery. He was shot in the face and neck.

Three suspects were arrested Monday night. John Jones, one of the suspects, is accused of attempted murder.
