Tyson Foods recalls frozen breaded chicken for possible plastic contamination
Tyson Foods has recalled over 3,000 pounds of frozen breaded chicken for a possible plastic contamination in the breading ingredients supplied to them. The company reports, their breading supplier found pieces of blue and clear soft plastic in their ingredients.
The following product has been recalled:
12-lb. box containing 3-lb. plastic bags of “UNCOOKED, BREADED, ORIGINAL CHICKEN TENDERLOINS,” with a lot code of 1378NLR02.
The recalled items carry the number "P-746" on the packaging.
The United States Department of Agriculture urges any businesses that may have this product stored away in their freezers to thrown them out.
Officials confirmed there haven been no reports of injury due to the contamination, but anyone with concerns should contact their healthcare provider.
