Recall: DeWALT electric drills pose shock hazard
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) - The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of two DeWALT electric drill models because they pose a shock hazard.
The two models are the DeWALT DWD110 and the DWD112 drills.
The company says the drills have the date codes 2017-37-FY through 2018-22-FY.
The CPSC says if the date code has X after it, the unit has been inspected and is not affected.
Consumers are asked to stop using the drills immediately and contact DeWALT for a free inspection and repair of the unit.
The units were sold through retailers from September 2017 through November 2018 for about $70.
UPC codes for the DeWALT DWD110 is 885911037518, and the UPC code for the DeWALT DWD112 is 885911057319.
If there is doubt as to whether a unit is affected, call DeWALT at 855-752-5229.
The CPSC says DeWALT previously announced the recall in early January, but the department was unable to report it because of the government shutdown.
