WASHINGTON (SBG) - President Donald Trump took time out during his busy schedule to speak with Sinclair Broadcast Group's Scott Thuman. The two discussed several topics including the economy, the migrant caravan and the upcoming midterm elections.

I really think we're going to see some good numbers out of the House. Now the Senate we're looking very good but I see some surprising numbers out of the House.

On the topic of immigration the president defended his decision to send thousands of troops to the southern border. His comments come following new reports thousands of migrants from the Central American caravan are moving towards Mexico City.

People have to come into our country legally otherwise you don't have a country.

When asked about the economy the president said it's one of the things he remains focused on. During his nearly two years in office, job numbers have grown while the unemployment rate continues to drop.

I'm focused very much on the economy. Greatest economy we've ever had. Greatest job numbers we've ever had. These are the best job numbers we've ever had.
