Mom of 3 -year-old shot in road rage incident speaks out
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) - The mother of a three-year-old girl shot during a road rage incident pleaded for someone to come forward with any information during a news conference Wednesday.
"I know there is something out there that knows something. I just want you to come forward. Everybody's kids are out there tonight celebrating Halloween, trick or treating, and my daughter's laying in a hospital bed in an induced coma," Preslie Jean's mom said during the news conference.
"She wanted to be Ariel," her mother added.
Port St. Lucie police and Preslie Jean's mother held a news conference three days after her three-year-old daughter was shot in the head during a road-rage incident early Sunday morning. According to police, Preslie Jean, her parents and his brother were driving down the street when a driver shot into their car.
The three-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to her head and was forced to have part of her skull and brain removed due to swelling.
Police are still hunting for the suspect, describing him as a Hispanic or a light-skinned black male, possibly in a BMW with damaged to its side.
They ask anyone with information to come forward.
