You're invited to enjoy Washington and the 23rd annual Wildlife Arts Festival, lasting until Saturday.

Friday events run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and feature opportunities like raffle to win a "Glamping 3-room tent" and a silent auction at the Washington Civic Center.

Saturday's events kick off at 10 a.m. but wrap up a little sooner at 6 p.m. Below is a list of events to look forward to:

  • "Glamping 3-room tent" raffle and silent auction at Washington Civic Center (closes at 4 p.m., winners announced 5:30 p.m.)
  • Duck decoy carving competition (Peterson Building next to Civic Center)
  • Duck and goose calling seminar (12:30-2:30 p.m.)
  • Duck decoy carving demonstration by Jerry Talton, of the Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild, at Washington Civic Center
  • Exhibits at Washington Civic Center
  • NC Oyster Update by Peter Boettger, including health of oyster population, regeneration and more at 11 a.m.
  • Educational & hands-n demonstrations at the Washington Civic Center
  • Food vendors
  • Kids duck decoy painting (pre-registration required)
  • Soap decoy carving at historic Turnage Theatre (2 p.m.)
  • Costumed character, Mallory the Mallard, will be giving away free movie tickets
  • Retrieving dog demonstrations (10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.)
  • Featured Artists -- John & Dodi Groesser & Array of Wildlife Arts for sale and on display at the Historic Turnage Theatre
