PLYMOUTH, Washington County — Vidant Medical Center is stepping up to help employees from Washington County Hospital.
The focus is helping employees who left their job or aren't working since the Washington County Hospital shut down. That's why Vidant employees jumped at the chance to help the best way they could think. That's why Vidant Medical Center will host a job fair on Thursday for those employees. Vidant officials hope the employees can benefit from the fair and be a resource for the community.
Almost a week later, Washington County Hospital remains closed and employees are not receiving pay. Hospital CEO Melanie Perry said about four people resigned because of the issues.
The job fair will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Plymouth Church of Christ. Employees are encouraged to bring their resumes and those who don't have one will receive help in putting one together.
