Two men rescued from river in Craven County


Two men were rescued in the early morning hours Monday from the Neuse River after their boat capsized.

Craven County Dispatch said they received a call around 2 a.m. Monday morning of two men in the water. A rescue boat was launched from the landing dock at 880 Wildlife Road in Bridgeton.

Crews from the Craven County Sheriff's Office, the Little Swift Creek Volunteer Fire Department, N.C. Wildlife, the US Coast Guard and others responded. The two men were taken to an area hospital in unknown condition.
