Suspect wanted after shooting Thursday in Washington
WASHINGTON, Beaufort County —
Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office are looking for a suspect involved in the shooting of a man Thursday night.
Officials are looking for Marquel Levette Warren, 29, of Washington. Deputies responded to a residence on Jack Street in the Mimosa Mobile Home Park in Washington. When they arrived, they found a 34-year-old man shot multiple times. He was treated by Broad Creek EMS and transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for surgery.
After collecting physical evidence and interviewing multiple witnesses, it was determined several people were hanging out at the home when the shooting happened. Warren, witnesses said, pulled a gun and shot the victim. The two continued to struggle and the victim was shot again. Warren then fled the scene.
Sheriff's investigators have charged Warren with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Warren was already wanted on a count of assault by pointing a gun and failure to appear in court on a breaking and entering charge. Warren is considered to be armed and dangerous.
