Road to recovery continues to be long for Trent Court community

Nearly two months after Hurricane Florence hit, some communities are getting back to normal while others are seemingly stuck in a rut.

One of those communities is Trent Court in New Bern. According to the housing authority, there were 12 buildings which had water in them after Florence hit. There were 108 apartments and 220 residents impacted.

Residents like Cheryl Reed were impacted and had to stay in a shelter. She and her dog are now living in New Bern Towers while officials try to make repairs and figure out what's next.
