JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — Thursday night was a chance for patrons to enjoy a beloved place in Jacksonville once again.
The Tarheel in Jacksonville kicked off its grand re-opening on a good note Thursday, the first time the doors have been opened since Hurricane Florence.
Country music artist Drake White performed during the grand re-opening. Venue officials said the entire flooring was replaced after water leaked from the ceiling. It was a long process but it was worth it.
"We are so excited," Tarheel general manager Jennifer Allen said before Thursday's re-opening. "We were ready to get this live music back to the community and the surrounding areas. We’ve been through a lot, built it back up and we are ready.
Some big names are expected to perform at The Tarheel, including Chase Rice in April.
