Bonito and his handler are stars.

The Onslow County Sheriff's Office K-9 and his handler, Sgt. Dawn Jauernik, made a lip sync video as part of the #LipSyncChallenge that has gone viral on the internet. The video, which shows Jauernik lip syncing a song by Bruno Mars, has been viewed over 670,000 times.

Jauernik wanted to make the video come with a message for the public but Bonito had other plans.

"That song was chosen to let the community know that we're a team," Jauernik said. "To try us. That we are here for them. But it ended up being a bonding song. I guess everybody interpreted it as the bond between my dog and I."

The community has responded back with enthusiasm. Even viewers from Germany have checked outthe video, reaching out with positve and encouraging comments. The video has also raised $500 in three days for a new bullet-proof and stab vest for Bonito.

He'll be receiving the vest this Saturday.
