Residents of a South Carolina neighborhood banded together Friday to help a family whose home was damaged by a falling tree during Hurricane Florence.

The owner of a Goose Creek home said she and her husband had been concerned that the tree was dying and might fall over prior to the storm.

“My husband today, we came outside and he said don’t you think that tree is leaning a little more?” she said.

Nobody was injured when the tree toppled, damaging their roof and blocking their driveway, and neighbors quickly gathered to help clear the trunk and branches away. The owner, who expects insurance to cover the damages, was grateful for their support.

“Thank God nobody was hurt,” she said.
