A Jones County organization received a large amount of money on Wednesday to help with recovery from Hurricane Florence.

RISE (Recover, Improve, Support, Empower) is an organization founded after Hurricane Florence to help families in Jones County recover. The main goal is to get every person in Jones County back into their homes and back on their feet. Jennifer King, treasurer of the organization, received a check for over $51,000.

The money was raised during The Avett Brothers' concert last month at East Carolina University. Henry Hinton, president of Inner Banks Media, delivered the check and other checks to organizations in Onslow and Craven counties..

"The credit goes to the Avid Brothers," Hinton said. "They came in and did a concert and we were able to raise a considerable amount of money to give back to the communities that were affected by the hurricane."
