JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — Hurricane Florence's impact has seemingly been felt by everyone. Local fishermen are no different.
The storm, which hit Sept. 13-14 of last year, has had some long-term impact on the commercial fishing industry. Some of those impacts may still be unknown for years to come. Some fishermen are still rebuilding while others had to take jobs in areas like construction until they could return to what they love.
NewsChannel 12's Christina Thompson spoke with Steve Murphey of the Division of Marine Fisheries, along with commercial fisherman Billy Sanderford and David Cessna Clammerhead, co-owner of the Sandbar Oyster Company to get their view of how things look after Florence.
