Hurricane Florence has forced WCTI-TV NewsChannel 12 to evacuate.

We wrote in a Facebook post around 10:15 p.m. Thursday:

"We had to leave our station due to rising flood waters from Hurricane Florence."

Our sister station WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is providing broadcast coverage for us until further notice.

We have continued to post on social media and our website since evacuating.

According to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Category 1 Florence made landfall near Wrightsville Beach Friday morning, bringing with it maximum sustained winds of 90 mph.

The City of New Bern reported Friday that about 150 people in the area were in need of rescuing.
