Greenville Police arrest two who stole law enforcement equipment

GREENVILLE, Pitt County - Greenville Police arrested two teenagers on drug and weapon charges. They are also charged with stealing law enforcement equipment.

Jarius Brown, 17, and Demetrius Barrett, 23, were each charged with various weapons and drug charges. Both are in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $1 million dollar bond. 

GPD officials said in a press release its Property Crimes Unit provided information on the two as possible suspects to the GPD Gang Unit. A search warrant was issued at 103 A Juniper Lane where officers recovered four stolen firearms from the home. A raid vest and taser that were stolen from a Pitt County Sheriff's Office vehicle at his home back in September were also recovered. Detectives also located and seized stolen electronics, miscellaneous hunting gear, money and 100 grams of marijuana.
