Glass bowl resolves Carteret Co. race, another ends in one-vote difference


BEAUFORT, Carteret County - Carteret County has finally seen the November election come to a complete end.

The Carteret County News-Times reports on Monday officials with the county's Board of Elections drew from a glass bowl to determine who would fill out the Pine Knoll Shores board of commissioners. Larry Corsello's name was drawn from a glass bowl to fill the spot. He and Alicia Durham finished tied after a recount from the Nov. 7 election, forcing a situation where both names were placed in a glass bowl and the winner was drawn by Board of Elections Chairman Amy Holland.

Corsello joins John Brodman and Bill Knecht, who was elected for the first time, on the board.

In the Morehead City council race, Keri McCann won by a single vote for the spot after a recount over Sally Lumpkin. She joins
