Development center hosts masquerade ball to raise money for free programming

One local development center is hosting a masquerade ball to raise money for free programming.

PEERS Family Development Center in Jacksonville is hosting a masquerade ball this month and tickets are still available.

Organizers are getting ready now -- finalizing raffle prizes and decorations for the event.

All of the proceeds from the ball go toward helping PEERS Family Development Center fund their free parent education classes, adolescent parenting program and free child care.

"The actual night of the event is gonna be a lot of fun," Adolescent Parenting Program Coordinator Kameron Parker said. "We are going to have dinner catered by Outback Steakhouse."

The ball is set to happen on Friday, January 26.

"We're also going to have live entertainment from the Notorious Clam Slammers," Parker said. "There will be an art auction going on throughout the night so the people can bid on art pieces."

The development center is also looking for sponsors. For more information, or to purchase tickets, you can visit them at 151 Chaney Ave in Jacksonville or call 910-333-9725.
