JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — An eastern North Carolina congressman helped give out COVID-19 vaccinations in the area on Tuesday.
North Carolina Representative Greg Murphy, M.D., put his medical skills to use as he rolled up the sleeves of vaccine recipients in Onslow County.
He also toured the county's second-dose vaccine clinic at the Onslow County Government Center. Murphy said he is impressed with the process county officials are using to get people vaccinated.
"I think the Onslow County folks have done a fantastic job of putting forth a first-class facility and getting people run through the process as safely and as easily as possible," said the third district congressman."My hat's off to them."
Murphy added the county is running a "well-oiled machine" that serves as an example of effectively distributing shots.

Onslow County recently ranked last in the state for vaccine distribution, but area health officials said the state data didn't tell the full story because it doesn't include doses aboard Camp Lejeune.
