The future of Ward Shore Park in Swansboro has been put on hold for now.

Tuesday night, Swansboro town officials were trying to hear what the public wanted them to do with Ward Shore Park. The park is known for its million-dollar view has caught the eye of numerous people, resulting in people parking on the narrow two-lane road.

That's caused traffic congestion and has led to the board seeking some kind of solution to the problem. Three possible solutions came about but another issue came up, the erosion of the shoreline.

In the end, the board decided to table the discussion for two weeks for further consideration of the road and erosion issue.

"I think a lot of us were surprised that it really pushed that way but I do feel it was the right thing," Swansboro Mayor John Davis said. "We need to have our priorities and the road is not much good if you don’t stop the water from coming to it."
