HARLOWE, Craven County — A bicyclist was struck and killed Friday morning along a Craven County road, officials confirm.
Troopers say Kelvin Godette, 50, of Havelock was riding a bicycle down on Temples Point Road when he and an Ford F-150 collided. It happened around 5:30 a.m. The truck was driven by a man from Havelock. While troopers have released the truck driver's identity, it is the policy of NewsChannel 12 to not release their name unless the driver is charged with wrongdoing in the crash.
According to pictures sent into the newsroom, the passenger side of the truck was damaged in the collision.
Traffic was backed up but is now flowing freely. It's unclear if the truck driver will face charges. Troopers said the collision is still under investigation.
