Aldi stores recalling apples due to possible listeria contamination
NEW BERN, Craven County - Aldi has announced a voluntarry recall of several varieties of applies sold in its stores across North Carolina.
The recall was announced due to possible listeria contamination, according to a press release from the company. The following product types and UPC codes are impacted by the recall:
-- Fuji Apples, 3 lb. bag, UPC code: 033383087139
-- Gala Apples, 3 lb. bag, UPC code: 033383086897
-- Golden Apples, 3 lb. bag, UPC code: 033383081175
-- Honeycrisp Apples, 2 lb. bag, UPC code: 079954000015
-- Honeycrisp Apples, unpackaged, PLU sticker: 3283
There are Aldi stores in Jacksonville and Greenville. You are encouraged to either throw the apples out or return them to the store for a full refund.
