Three arrested in Greenville after couple robbed while waiting at red light

Three people, one a juvenile, have been arrested after a couple was robbed inside their vehicle while waiting at a red light.

Greenville Police reported Christopher Barrett, 20, Ayunna Jackson, 19, and Aaron Baker, 17, a juvenile, were arrested on Sunday. They are facing the following charges:

Aaron Baker, 17 (passenger)

· Robbery with dangerous weapon X2

· 2nd degree kidnapping X2

· Felony conspiracy robbery with dangerous weapon

· Assault by pointing a gun

· Assault on female

· Go Armed to the terror of the public

· Resist, obstruct, delay

Christopher Barrett, 20 (driver)

· Felony conspiracy to commit robbery with dangerous weapon

· Fail to yield to emergency lights and siren

Ayunna Jackson, 19 (passenger)

· Felony conspiracy to commit robbery with dangerous weapon

· Child endangerment/abuse

Officials said just before 6 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the area of Greenville Boulevard and Evans Street to a report of an armed robbery. A 70-year-old male and female reported they stopped at a red light and two people in a vehicle behind them got into their vehicle. A suspect struck the female victim across the face, displayed a handgun and demanded the woman' purse. They got back into the other vehicle and quickly left the scene.

The victims were able to prove a description and other information that led to an arrest. Later in the evening, that vehicle was spotted and pulled over near the intersection of Greenville Boulevard and East 10th Street by Greenville Police. The front seat passenger ran out of the car and toward a nearby apartment complex but was caught by members of Greenville Police, the Pitt County Sheriff's Office and ECU Police. It as determined the driver had another person in the car along with a 7-month-old baby.
