Three arrested for robberies of Dollar Tree stores

Greenville Police arrested three people in connection to a rash of robberies at Dollar General stores in the region.

Trivanti Teele, Marcus Speller and Tony Speller were each arrested and charged Sunday. Police said the three rode around in a 1999 Ford Ranger and made the robberies each time.

They were seen in Bethel casing the Dollar General at 125 Smith Speir Lane. With the assistance of Bethel Police Department, Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, Greenville Police Department and N.C. Highway Patrol, a felony traffic stop was conducted and all three individuals were detained and transported to the Greenville Police Department.

Police said the first robbery involving the suspects happened on Nov. 28, 2018 at approximately 9:55 p.m. at 3920 Charles Blvd. in Greenville. The second robbery happened on Dec. 15, 2018 around the same time at 6624 Hwy 13 South in Snow Hill. On Jan. 5, 2019, a robbery occurred at 4112 NC 33 W. in Pitt County around 9 p.m.

A fourth incident was an attempted robbery that occurred on Jan. 6, 2019 at 6046 Bear Grass Rd. in Willimston. There was also an attempted robbery on Jan. 14 at 4085 Dickinson Avenue in Greenville at around 10 pm.

Greenville Police, Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT), NCSBI Fugitive and Missing Person Task Force and FBI Task Force worked together during these robberies.
