Man arrested for stealing Beulaville church's sound system

    A Beulaville man was arrested for breaking into a church and stealing a sound system.

    On June 12, 2018, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Happy Valley Church in Beulaville for a report that someone had broken into the church. During the investigation, witnesses reported seeing a person of interest's car in the area of the church. The nearly seven-month investigation led to the arrest of Jermaine Lewis Taylor on Tuesday.

    34-year-old Taylor, of Haw Branch Road in Beulaville, was arrested and charged with:

    • Felony breaking/entering a place of worship
    • Felony larceny
    • Felony obtaining property by false pretense
    • Two counts of felony possession of stolen property
    • Misdemeanor larceny

    Taylor was given a $25,900 secured bond. Taylor is currently being held in the Onslow County Detention Center awaiting trial.
