Taxi driver injured in early-morning shooting in Jacksonville

A taxi driver was injured in an early-morning shooting incident in Jacksonville.

At approximately 5:49a.m. on Friday, the Jacksonville Police Department responded to the 200 block of New River Drive. Officers found one person shot. The victim was transported to a local medical facility with non-life threatening injuries for medical treatment.

“We are in the preliminary stages of this shooting investigation,” stated Deputy Chief Ronnie Dorn. Detectives ask that anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Daniel Karratti at (910) 938-6410 or or call Crime Stoppers at (910) 938-3273.

When NewsChannel 12 crews arrived on scene, a yellow taxi cab was being loaded and towed away.
