Tyrrell County deputies arrest Florida woman on drug charges
COLUMBIA, Tyrrell County —
Tyrell County deputies arrested a Florida woman on drug charges Tuesday.
According to Tyrell County Sheriff Darryl Liverman, deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on U.S. 64 in Columbia. When they approached the vehicle, deputies said they smelled marijuana. Deputies also said they saw an open container of alcohol in Mary Goodwin’s vehicle. After deputies searched the vehicle, they seized the following: cocaine, methamphetamines, MDMA, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Goodwin, 26, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was arrested and charged with two counts of felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Goodwin was placed in the Dare County Detention Center on a $100,000 secured bond and has a first appearance set for Wednesday in Tyrrell County District Court.
