Man wanted for committing construction fraud after hurricane

A North Carolina man is wanted by authorities for taking advantage of hurricane survivors.

Stanley Winslow Sears, Jr. currently lives in Pinetops, North Carolina which is in Edgecombe County.

Authorities said Sears came into Carteret County after Hurricane Florence and began committing construction fraud against victims of the storm.

Warrants have been issued for Sears' arrest for obtaining property by false pretenses and failing to work after being paid.

Sears may still be traveling to Carteret County during the week and is possibly in the Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Salter Path, Indian Beach area.

No vehicles are registered to Sears but he is reportedly operating an older model white truck.

His last known address is 334 High Level Pine Road in Pinetops, North Carolina.
