A Greenville man is behind bars Thursday, charged with shooting at another person in Greenville Wednesday night.

Greenville Police arrested 26-year-old Kareem Gibbs at a home on Douglas Avenue following the shooting on Wednesday. Gibbs is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, along with possession of cocaine.

The person Gibbs is accused of shooting at was not injured.

Gibbs was in Pitt County District Court Thursday morning for his first appearance. He is booked into the Pitt County Detention Center on a $60,000 bond.

This follows a pair of shootings overnight Tuesday into Wednesday on Greene Street. Lt. David Bowen with GPD said those incidents remain under investigation, as two homes and a vehicle were struck by gunfire.

Bowen said no witnesses have come forward yet in those incidents, which occurred in the 1700 block of Greene Street.
