The Kinston Police Department has arrested one man involved in a shooting late last month and is searching for another.

The department announced Wednesday it coordinated with the US Marshals Task Force on Tuesday to arrest 31-year-old Rodney Meadows, charging him with attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Kinston PD spokesperson Woody Spencer said Meadows was involved in a shooting on June 22 in which 29-year-old Quentin Jones was wounded and hospitalized. Meadows himself was wounded in the shooting.

Meadows was booked into the Lenoir County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.

Police are still searching for 27-year-old Demario Washington. He is wanted on the same three charges as Meadows.

Anyone with information on Washington's whereabouts is asked to call KPD at (252) 939-3160, The TIPS LINE at (252) 939-4020 or Lenoir County Crime Stoppers at (252) 523-4444.
