HAVELOCK, Craven County —
An online threat made against Havelock High School poses no imminent threat, school officials report this morning.
Principal Jeffrey Murphy said in a letter to parents that the message of a threat to shoot up the school was discovered Tuesday night. Havelock Police assigned three detectives to investigate and identified the person who made the post, Murphy said.
Murphy did not say whether an arrest was made as a result of the investigation, but Havelock Police will have a heavier than usual presence at the Havelock High School campus Wednesday morning.
"It is our intention to have a regular school day," Murphy told parents of the school schedule for Wednesday.
