Final suspect arrested in Jacksonville tobacco shop robbery

In the early morning hours of Jan. 5, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office responded to 2&1 Vape and Cigar Tobacco Shop located at 5137 Richlands Highway for a business alarm call.

Deputies discovered that the store had been broken into and a number of items were stolen.

After further investigation, detectives were able to identify three suspects through evidence that was left at the crime scene.

Deputies arrested the third and final suspect on Monday.

50-year-old Richard Eric Alander Jr., of Holly Shelter Road in Jacksonville, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Felony breaking and entering
  • Felony safe cracking
  • Felony conspiracy

Alander was transported to the Onslow County Detention Center where he is under an $8,000 secured bond, awaiting his first court appearance.

Marc Atteridge and Monica Atteridge were previously arrested for their part in the break-in.
