PirateFest announces dates for annual event
GREENVILLE, Pitt County —
Plans are now underway for the 13th annual PirateFest on April 12-13.
The event will take place in Uptown Greenville, specifically at the Five Point Plaza area. It will feature rides, music, food arts and crafts and other entertainment. PirateFest kicks off Friday, April 12th from 5-9 p.m. with Buccaneer Bash, a live music concert and wristband night at the carnival. On Saturday, April 13th, PirateFest begins at 11 a.m. with the Parade of Pirates. The celebration takes place along Evans St. from 5th to 1st Street and on the Town Common in Uptown Greenville.
PirateFest features fine arts and crafts for sale, two live music stages, pirate grog, pirate re-enactments, a children’s pirate costume contest, and a Pirate Encampment offering crafts, inflatables for children, and other activities.
“We invite everyone to get in touch with their inner pirate at Greenville’s signature community event,” said Bianca Shoneman, President of Uptown Greenville, in a press release. “PirateFest offers top-notch entertainment and family-friendly activities throughout the weekend at one of the liveliest celebrations in the region. Visitors are invited to escape the ordinary, and walk the plank in the Emerald City.”
