GREENVILLE, Pitt County - In addition to hooping it up on the basketball court, it turns out members of the East Carolina men's team can also sing.

Members of the team went caroling through the halls of the James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital in Greenville on Friday morning. Children receiving treatment were super excited for the team's holiday visit, but it seems like the ECU basketball players were even more excited to spread Christmas cheer to their young fans.

It's a tradition that's been going on for eight years. The team practices their five favorite Christmas carols, hoping to put smiles on the young patients' faces. They then visit each room, bringing Christmas cheer, signing autographs and then posing for photos.

It's something Junior Addision Hill looks forward to each holiday.

"Especially around the Christmas season when you can get caught up in giving gifts, and receiving gifts," Hill said. "But I know these kids here, they might not have the same experience for Christmas as I might have, so it's definitely humbling."

The team also visited the inpatient and outpatient pediatric units, the rehab room and the intensive care unite. In addition, they performed a live streamed concert for children who were to sick to participate. It was their way of making sure nobody missed out on the Christmas cheer.
