Tis the season for back to school shopping.

For the down-low on the latest trends, we sought out an expert. Sarah Abbott, the owner of Plato's closet in Jacksonville, sat down with us to explain the do's and don'ts.

"This season for back-to-school shopping, there's a couple new trends that we're seeing come through," Abbott said. "First of all, shirt-alls. They are back, 90's is still with us. They pair great with a camo T-shirt or cute graphic tee underneath."

Abbott added they're also seeing embroidered denim make a comeback. She says this fall, light and bright colors are keeping things new and fresh. But if you're hesitant to try out the newer styles, never fear. Abbott says older styles are still with us, and they aren't going anywhere.

Flannel is a good go-to if you're in a pinch, and the denim-on-denim trend is still going really strong, according to Abbott. And don't forget the cargo military jacket that you can pair up with a dress, a favorite pair of jeans and some boots.

And for the guys, hoodies and jeans are here to say. Abbott recommends throwing on your favorite baseball cap and you're ready for school.

Now you can hit the stores with confidence and walk the halls in style.
