School safety is a big topic as the 2018-19 school year starts across the country.

Safe House Tactical, in Sneads Ferry, is selling a bulletproof insert for backpacks. According to employees, sales are up. This isn't the only business providing this type of product, but Monroe Stueber, the owner of Safe House Tactical, explained some of the benefits to the product he sells.

"They still have room for their books and everything, but it gives them some extra protection while they're at school," said Stueber. The inserts come in a variety of sizes. Stueber said they'll fit any backpack on the market. No matter how you choose to protect your child, Stueber said it starts with preparation.

Safe House Tactical has provided a back to school discount code.
