Emmitt Wooten Jr.'s bathroom has looked like a construction site for the past two days.

He's not complaining.

Baths for the Brave teamed up with Brytons Home Improvement in New Bern to give Wooten an entire shower renovation in his bathroom.

Wooten said this is a dream of his and his late wife. Before the renovation, he said his old bath was becoming a health hazard, making him slip and fall. He said he's happy now because his new walk-in shower will have a seat and grab bars.

"Us veterans feel like we have been forgotten and it's nice to know that someone still thinks about us and consider us and ... like I said, I'm just lost for words. I just don't know how to express my appreciation of what they're doing," Wooten said.
