If you’re planning your weekend, you’ll want to hear about Hammock’s Beach State Park’s military appreciation event.
The event was created 16 years ago to give military parents and children a fun escape while their spouse or parent was deployed.
And since then, it’s become a well-known day of fun in the community. Military appreciation day kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday at the state park. The event runs until about 4 p.m.
You can expect a lot of games, canoe rides, an educational fish touch tank and free food. But most importantly, expect to see a lot of appreciation towards our military.
The event is open to everyone in the public.
