Ashley joined the WCTI Storm Track 12 team in May 2017 as the weekend morning meteorologist and weekday reporter.
Ashley grew up in Forney, Texas just outside of Dallas. She moved to Norman, Oklahoma to study meteorology at the University of Oklahoma. While at OU, she interned at KOCO in Oklahoma City and became very familiar with severe weather.
She also worked at the Oklahoma Mesonet where she was able to experience the operational side of meteorology. Ashley won the Harold Taft Scholarship for her onscreen work on OU Nightly, a student run newscast at OU.
Ashley is passionate about communicating weather information to the public. During her senior year at OU, she worked on a research project that aimed to improve communication to the public during severe weather events. She was invited on a weather podcast called WeatherBrains to talk about the results of this research project.
Ashley received a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology along with minors in math and broadcast meteorology.
Anytime she is not at work you can probably spot her at Sonic Happy Hour. She also enjoys cooking, going to the beach, watching Netflix, and spending time with her awesome family.
Ashley is excited to be in beautiful eastern North Carolina. She would love to see your sunset pictures so tag her in them on social media.
