President Trump, Gov. Cooper call for lowering of flags to half-staff

President Trump ordered the flags at all federal buildings to fly at half-staff after the Las Vegas shooting.

RALEIGH - President Donald Trump and Gov. Roy Cooper have ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff in the wake of Sunday's Las Vegas attack.

Cooper joined Trump, who made the announcement Monday afternoon, in calling for the flags to be lowered to half-staff at state facilities from now until sunset on Friday.

"The shooting in Las Vegas is just horrific, senseless violence," Cooper said. "We are praying for the victims, their families and the first responders who answered the call."
