Officials told man used 'videotaping device' in boys' locker room
WAYNESVILLE, N.C. - Haywood County Schools said Monday in a press release that at about 11:30 Monday morning, Waynesville Middle School and Haywood County Schools officials were notified that a man used a "videotaping device" in the boys' locker room at the Waynesville Recreation Center.
"At this point, the investigation is in the early stages. The alleged perpetrator is cooperating with law enforcement. Procedures are taking place to retrieve the alleged videotape," said Bill Nolte, associate superintendent.

The incident happened during a middle-school field trip. Some sixth-grade boys were in the locker room at the time of the alleged videotaping, the release said.
Officials from the Waynesville Recreation Center, the Waynesville Police Department and Haywood County Schools are investigating the matter.
"We appreciate the quick reporting of this alleged event by Waynesville Middle School Students and staff and the rapid response from Waynesville Recreation and the Waynesville Police Department," Superintendent Anne Garett said in the release. "At this time, we are following the situation closely. "
The school system said it will notify the parents of any students who were recorded on the video
