A winter drug roundup led to the arrest of 11 suspected drug dealers.

Lenoir County Sheriff's Office concluded numerous narcotics investigations over the past week. The Narcotics Team and Community Crime Reduction Team built criminal cases against the defendants with the help of Kinston Police Department Narcotics team for the distribution of methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin.

"Our efforts are focused on reducing crime in Lenoir County," Sheriff Ingram said. "We know that drug use leads to other crimes, in particular breaking and entering and larcenies, where users have to steal to fund their habit."

More charges and arrests are pending as a result of the investigations, officials said.

"These patterns make drug investigations a high priority in our office," Sheriff Ingram said. "Based on numerous tips from the community, surveillance and investigative actions, our detectives have made these various arrests to try and rid our county of these dealers."
