Victim Robbed and Assaulted in New Bern

A man was robbed and assaulted in New Bern, according to a press release from The New Bern Police Department.

On January 13, 2018, at approximately 5:26 p.m., officers responded to a robbery in the area of Metcalf Street near S. Front Street, according to the release.

The victim reported he was approached by a group of approximately five males. One of the males displayed a box cutter. The male with the box cutter was described as a male approximately 6'00" with shoulder length dreads, according to police. The remaining suspects are described as black males between 5'10" and 6'01" in their late teens or early twenties with medium builds. All of the suspects fled the area on foot. During the robbery the victim was punched causing minor injuries and US currency was stolen.
