Vanceboro puckers up for strawberry fest

VANCEBORO, Craven County - The town of Vanceboro is set to host its annual strawberry festival this weekend, with activities kicking off at 5 p.m. on Friday.

The opening night of the two-day festival is dedicated to youth activities and performances, running until 10 p.m.

The following day starts with the annual parade running down Main Street at 10 a.m., and has a number of dance and musical acts to follow, including the Green Grass Cloggers and Donald Thompson Band. The bulk of the events for the festival take place at Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary School.
